Types of Jeep Seat Covers

Jeep seat covers are one of the easiest and cheapest ways to add personality to your rig. From buying seat covers that are hip to buying ones that are classic and everything in between - there's something for everyone. Seat covers are available in a large variety of styles, colors and prices.

Here are some factors to keep in mind when buying jeep seat covers.

1. The seat covers must be easily washable. Most jeepers will agree that the seats of their rig undergo a fair amount of wear and tear especially when off-roading. To keep the rig looking sparkling clean the material that the seat covers are made from must be machine washable.

2. The Jeep seat covers you select must be made of a tough material. Of course you want something that looks good and is aesthetically appealing. But a delicate fabric or material that only looks great won't last long. Frankly, if you are looking for a luxurious set of seat covers then Jeep isn't the vehicle for you at all! Jeep is all about tough functionality and that's the kind of seat covers you want.

3. Select the colors of your Jeep seat covers. This is entirely a personal preference and most Jeepers prefer to match it to the interiors of their rig.

4. Ensure that the seat covers fit well. When shopping for the seat covers know the exact type of seats you have. It is a bench seat or bucket seats? Is the headrest bucket seat type or captain chairs? Knowing the exact make and model of your seats makes it easier to buy Jeep seat covers that fit well. The worst thing ever is to have covers that slip and move as you get in and out of the rig.

5. Set a budget. Invariably, the more you are willing to spend the better the seat covers you can buy. However, identify the kind of person you are. If you like to change the look of your rig often then go for cheaper covers that you can change soon. If you prefer to buy only quality stuff and spend just once then splurge on the best you can get.

Here are some of the different types of Jeep seat covers in the market.

  • Fabric seat covers: These are very good to allow the air to circulate and a good option for hot climates. The range of fabrics and colors available today is immense. You can also get custom made fabric Jeep seat covers and have them embroidered with the Jeep logo or your company logo.

  • Vinyl seat covers: These are a great option if you want a leather look without bearing the expense of actual leather seat covers. These fit really well.

  • Leather seat covers: Definitely offer the best fit and look very rebellious. Go with the Jeep image.

  • Sheepskin seat covers: This is pure extravagance and lends your rig a plush look. Sheepskin is also a great insulator and keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer.

  • Neoprene Jeep seat covers: Made from neoprene - the fabric of wet suits - these seat covers are obviously water and stain resistant. A bit on the expensive side, nevertheless if you can afford them well worth their price. In addition, these seat covers are very soft and provide great cushion on long rides.

So, Jeep seat covers are a great way to re-upholster your rig without actually changing the upholstery!
